LATREL CRAWFORD
I'm a Chicago-based actor, facilitator, and strategist whose work moves between stage and screen, learning and leadership spaces, and communities.
I'm curious about the stories we carry, the experiences that shape us, and how we make meaning together. Across these different disciplines, I bring a commitment to listening closely, creating with intention, and remaining open to what the work continues to teach me.
EXPLORE MY WORK
My work lives across storytelling, learning, leadership, and community. Each discipline has its own craft and purpose, and each continues to shape how I understand people and possibility.

Artistry
ACTOR & ARTIST
I'm drawn to stories that make room for the complexity of being human, including the parts we don't always know how to explain or reconcile. As an actor, I approach each character with curiosity, preparation, and a willingness to question my first assumptions. I'm interested in what becomes possible when I allow the character's truth to challenge my own understanding.

Facilitation + Leadership Development
FACILITATOR & LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PRACTITIONER
I design and facilitate participatory learning experiences that invite people to connect, reflect, and engage with ideas that matter. My practice spans workshops, leadership development, and emotional intelligence, with an emphasis on thoughtful design and responsiveness to the people in the room. I'm continually learning how to balance preparation with the flexibility to follow what a group actually needs.

Community + Strategy
ORGANIZER & STRATEGIST
My community work is rooted in a commitment to racial and economic justice, particularly for Black communities. Through organizing, civic engagement, and collaborative strategy, I'm interested in how people build collective power and shape the conditions affecting their lives. I also recognize that meaningful change requires sustained relationships, shared ownership, and accountability beyond any single initiative or individual.

MY THROUGHLINE
The intersection where it all connects.
Acting has taught me how much I can miss when I assume I already understand someone. Facilitation continues to challenge me to notice who is participating, whose perspective might be missing, and when my own instincts need to make room for something else. Community organizing reminds me that good intentions are only a beginning; trust, accountability, and sustained action matter just as much.
I don't experience these as disciplines I've mastered or questions I've finished answering. Each asks something different of me, and each continues to shape how I listen, collaborate, and understand my responsibility to others. I'm learning to take that responsibility seriously while leaving room to be surprised, challenged, and changed by the work itself.

Acting & Performance
Artistry
Through theatre, television, film, and commercial work, I explore characters and stories that ask me to encounter perspectives beyond my own. Each project offers a different opportunity to deepen my craft and bring honesty to the work.

Walking the Path
Facilitation + Leadership Development
An immersive learning experience I designed and facilitated to help colleagues engage with the learner journey firsthand. The experience invited reflection on how design choices shape participation, belonging, and learning.

Until We’re Whole
Civic Action Plan · Community Strategy
Developed through Civic Nation’s Change Collective Fellowship, this completed Civic Action Plan explores healing-centered approaches for young Black men and families impacted by gun violence in Chicago. Its implementation remains an evolving part of my community work.

COLLABORATION
I'm interested in opportunities that allow me to bring my work into new spaces, whether that's joining a theatre, film, television, or commercial production as an actor; designing and facilitating learning experiences, workshops, or leadership development programs; or contributing to community engagement and civic initiatives.
I welcome inquiries from casting professionals, producers, organizations, and community partners who see a potential connection between their work and mine. If you're considering a project, professional engagement, or collaboration, I'd be glad to explore what working together could look like.
